Kirbee

On January 18th, 2009, I decided to go to the SPCA and get another addition to the family. I figured it was time because mom is going to be leaving for Montreal soon and Boston just needed a little sister. Of course, I needed another cat too.

Boston

Boston came to me from the Fredericton SPCA in August of 2002. I was desperate for a cat because in June of 2002, we relocated to Fredericton from Oromocto and were told we couldn't have any cats in our new apartment building. As a result, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to give away my two angels, Spike and Kaylee. Needless to say, as soon as mom and I found out that other tenants had animals, we were furious. We needed to find something to fill the void, so we took a trip to the SPCA, much to the displeasure of mom's ex-husband. There were quite a few cats but the one who caught my eye was this little orange kitten who was sound asleep in the corner of his cage. He didn't even look up or make any indication that he knew I was standing there. Well, I pulled him out and he nestled into the crook of my arm and it was love at first purr (for me and him). Since it was only his first day at the shelter, we had to wait a few days to take him home but it was well worth the wait. Boston filled the void and made my heart feel whole again. Almost 7 years later, he is still around and sometimes he drives me crazy but I wouldn't have it any other way. He is my baby bear.

Introduction: Why I am doing this

I have decided that I'm going to do a blog about my cats. I got the idea from my friend Sarah, who does a blog about her dog Xia (xia-thegiantdog.blogspot.com). I think it might be a good way to show off some of the many pictures I have taken of Boston over the years and the new ones of Kirbee and also a way to capture any moments that I might want remember in the future. I have had many cats over the years and while I have some pictures to remember them with, I don't really have much else to go on. So, silly or not, I wanted to do something different for once. And we'll see how good I am at keeping it up. haha. Enjoy!
